About Us section.jpg

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are powerful, capable, and essential members of our communities. We are committed to supporting each person to pursue their dreams, exercise their rights, and fully participate in the life they choose.

As a person-first, nonprofit organization, we provide high-quality, community-based services that are centered around the unique strengths and aspirations of the people we support and work for. Our goal is to ensure every person has the opportunity to shape their own future, build meaningful connections, and live with dignity, purpose, and joy—on their own terms.

Our Mission is to empower people with intellectual
and developmental disabilities.

What We Do

At Ardmore, we empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live the lives they choose—at home, at work, and in the community. Through a broad array of personalized services, we create pathways to opportunity, connection, and growth.

Our supports are centered on each person’s unique goals and aspirations, fostering active community participation, meaningful contribution, and lasting relationships.

We support people to:

  • Live in homes they choose, with the housemates or supports they trust

  • Build independence through meaningful, equitable, paid employment

  • Spend their days engaged in activities that reflect their interests and talents

  • Grow through continued learning and new experiences

  • Thrive in inclusive communities where they are welcomed, valued, and have full membership

Together, we’re creating a community where everyone belongs and every voice matters.

Our Philosophy

Sixty Years of Encouraging Possibilities

We believe that every person, regardless of level of ability, has the right to dream, achieve, and belong.

Ardmore’s services are driven by four core pillars:

Empowerment
through
choice

We honor the autonomy and individuality of the people we support by giving them the tools to make decisions that shape their lives.

Inclusion
for all

Our mission is to build inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and embraced for who they are.

Lifelong
learning &
growth

We foster an environment that encourages personal development, skill-building, and continuous learning, empowering people to achieve their goals.

Community &
Connection

Together, we create strong networks of support, cultivating meaningful relationships between individuals, families, and their communities.
